VENTURA, CA
-- Signaling what project officials say is the City of Ventura's (CA) commitment
to advancing small business growth while enhancing the environment, Appliance
Advantage, a recycle of used appliances, has leased 5040 sq. ft. of space in that
community, announces Westcord Commercial Real Estate Services.
Appliance Advantage
schedules a June 1 occupancy of facilities familiar as the former home of Taylor Rents
located at 4547-A Telephone Rd., Ventura. Goodyear Tire occupies the balance of the
10,000 sq. ft. structure. Appliance Advantage was formerly located at 2159 Palma
Dr., Ventura.

Lopez of Van Nuys, CA-based Westcord represented both Ted Teetsel, owner of Appliance
Advantage, and The Stanley Works, the landlord. Term of the lease is 5.5 years;
consideration was not disclosed.
Commenting on the transaction, Nan Drake, a Ventura-based public affairs consultant who
assisted Appliance Advantage in gaining approvals for its use, said: "This shows that
the City of Ventura and Planning Manager Dennis MacKay are behind businesses seeking to
grow. It also reflects government's interest in promoting recycling, reconditioning
and re-use of older appliances to help the environment. Accompanying benefits
include providing re-conditioned household products to people who can't afford new ones,
and generating tax monies for the city."
