CHATSWORTH,
CA -- A familiar San Fernando Valley restaurant site in the community of
Chatsworth has been converted to a colorful 1950s-styled Denny's "Diner
2000" following the signing of a 20-year lease by area investor Farooq Ghias,
announces Westcord Commercial Real Estate Services.
The new restaurant, which
opened this week (Sept. 24), is located at 20419 Devonshire St. in the Devonshire Plaza
shopping center at the intersection of Devonshire and Mason Ave., among the Valley's
busiest intersections. The site was long recognized first as a Love's restaurant,
and for approximately the past 10 years as Skoby's restaurant.
Cesar de la Cruz
represented Ghias in the lease valued at approximately $2.3 million. Jeff Resnick of
First Property represented Devonshire Plaza Company, the property owner. Ghias emphasized
that the conversion of the 4560 sq. ft. restaurant to the "Diner 2000"
coffee shop concept is total, with an estimated expenditure of $400,000. He noted
that this includes a jukebox, stainless steel flashing, and a variety of 1950s retro
colors.
The Chatsworth Denny's "Diner 2000" will be the fifth similar Denny's restaurant
operated by Ghias. The others are located in Lancaster, Simi Valley, Sylmar, and
City of Commerce. Devonshire Plaza is anchored by Pic 'n Sav, Washington Mutual, ARCO
AM/PM, and Baskin-Robbins.
Westcord is one of the Los
Angeles area's top 25 commercial real estate companies with offices in Westlake Village,
CA, Van Nuys, CA, and Lancaster, CA. Another office will open soon in Valencia, CA. |
