STRATEGIC WESTLAKE CENTER BEING RE-BRANDED
TO MEET AREA’S GROWING RETAIL DEMANDS


WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA - Responding to what it terms a growing need for retail opportunities in Westlake Village, CA to serve major new business and hospitality venues, Westcord Commercial Real Estate Services announces the re-branding and re-configuration of the former Village Glen Plaza here into a dedicated retail center.

Strategically located at 2900 Townsgate Rd. at the corner of Village Glen Rd., the 70,000 sq. ft. center has been renamed “The Village at Westlake” and accents “a new tenant mix and fresh look reflecting a warm lifestyle environment,” said Marilyn Kidd, a retail specialist for Westlake Village-based Westcord, exclusive marketing agent for the center.

Noting that “The Village at Westlake” will comprise in excess of an additional 10,000 sq. ft. of retail space, Kidd also underscored that the reconfigured center will accent enhanced Townsgate exposure where she said over 2000 cars pass daily.

“There is high demand for retail services in Westlake Village, particularly with the opening of Four Seasons Hotel and the construction of the 471,000 sq. ft. Park Place office park directly across the street from ‘The Village of Westlake’ which brings total office space along the Townsgate corridor to over one million square feet. Virtually every high-end retailer now wants to be in this local market,” Kidd said.

Stating that new tenants are currently occupying “The Village of Westlake” as renovation approaches completion, Kidd said key elements of the project include floor-to-ceiling angled glass store fronts throughout, new arches to distinguish individual stores, new signage, a fresh Townsgate façade, new exterior columns, a large patio facing Townsgate at Village Glen, and a new stucco façade on the second story to accommodate signage. Additionally, the key interior corner of the center has been transformed into a unifying space with a pass-through promenade.

Kidd reports that “The Village at Westlake”, now 85 percent leased and featuring the popular P6 Restaurant, has already welcomed a new mix of tenants comprising over 7500 sq. ft. of space. “We are hand-picking the tenant mix to maximize the quality of the center,” said Kidd. She said 10,000 sq. ft. of space remains available. She emphasized that the center provides generous parking of four spaces per 1000 sq. ft. of building area.
